Denmark Tour 2023
After 15 long years The Hoodangers are finally returning to their second home of Denmark.
DENMARK, WE LOVE YOU AND WE WILL BE THERE SOON TO REVIVE YOU ALL!
Well, to tell the truth, one third of the band already live in your great country these days with their
Danish wives and Danish/Australian children!
We are planning to visit in late June & early July so please look out for our concerts and if you want to

Our history in Denmark:
The Hoodangers have visited Denmark on 5 previous occasions- 1997, 1999, 2001, 2005 & 2008.

street performances throughout Denmark.
We, The Hoodangers sincerely look forward to playing to as many Danes as
possible during our stay in the last week of June and the 1 st week of July, 2023.
Meet The Hoodangers
Ben Gillespie
Ben has been playing professionally for 35 years around Melbourne and Australia with a variety of
jazz, funk, reggae, salsa and Americana groups he is a part of. Additionally, he has performed with
other artists such as Gotye, Eric Burdon, Isaac Hayes and Wycliffe Gordon.
Eugene Ball
Eugene currently teaches Bachelor students in Melbourne lecturing in Trumpet,
Composition and Arranging. He maintains a busy schedule however composing and performing his
own music with a wide variety of ensembles. His performing credits include Rickie-Lee Jones, Sinead O’Connor and John Cale.
Chris Tanner
Chris was a mainstay on the Melbourne music scene for nearly 20 years before relocating to
Denmark where he has lived for more than 10 years with his Danish wife and children. Since moving
to Denmark Chris has maintained a busy performance schedule with his own group in addition to
Norbert Susemihl’s Joyful Gumbo, Fessor and His Jazz Kings, Hugo Rasmussen, Jacob Fischer and
Bjorn Ingelstam.
Mark Elton
Mark has been one of Australia’s most in demand Bassists for the last 15 years. He is prolific in jazz
circles but in recent times has turned to musical directing in a variety of situations including
musical theatre and cabaret. His performing credits include Nat Adderley Jr., Paulette McWilliams,
Sulene Fleming in addition to La Clique and Meow Meow.
Ollie Browne
Ollie has played in an extremely wide variety of musical groups in Melbourne over the last 25 years.
He is the front man and prime composer of award winning original slow-core band The Art Of
Fighting. Ollie re-located to Denmark in early 2020 where he continues to live with his Danish wife
and twin girls.
Mal Williams
In his spare time, Mal likes to train racing pigeons, obtaining a moderate degree of success on the lucrative eastern circuit. Recently moving to the Island state of Tasmania, in Australia's Rugged South, Mal realised he forgot to re-home his flock and is now on the lookout for a new set of high performance birds for the coming season.
